Introducing Omnissa Connect: Part 2
In Part 1 of this series, we introduced Omnissa Connect, a common platform service and experience designed to create more meaningful "connections" within our ecosystem. We are making steady progress toward launching Omnissa Connect in early 2025. This launch represents an important step in our evolution as an independent company and our commitment to streamlining how you manage and interact with Omnissa services.
Today, I want to share more specific details about what this transition means for your organization.
Transition for Existing Workspace ONE Cloud and Omnissa Cloud Services Customers
If you're an existing Workspace ONE Cloud and Omnissa Cloud Services customer, you might be wondering what the transition to Omnissa Connect means for you. The good news is that the process will be seamless, and you won't need to take any specific actions to start benefiting from the new platform.
You can determine if you're an existing Omnissa Cloud Services customer by checking your login method. If you're currently logging in through connect.omnissa.com, rather than directly accessing your service instance (such as Workspace ONE UEM), you are a "connected" customer. You can also verify your connection status within the Workspace ONE UEM bento menu (top right “9-dots” menu).

As an existing Workspace ONE Cloud and Omnissa Cloud Services customer, the transition to Omnissa Connect will be automatic. You'll experience a minor change in your login process: instead of logging in to Omnissa Cloud Services and then navigating to Workspace ONE Cloud, you will log directly into Omnissa Connect at connect.omnissa.com. From there, you'll have access to the combined functionalities of Workspace ONE Cloud and Omnissa Cloud Services in a single, unified platform.
Onboarding for Everyone Else
If you're a customer who hasn't yet adopted Workspace ONE Cloud and Omnissa Cloud Services, you might be considered a "new" customer in the context of Omnissa Connect. It's important to note that this includes many of our long-time customers who have been with us since before the launch of Workspace ONE Cloud in December 2020.
As mentioned in the previous section, you can determine if you're a "new" customer by checking your login method. If you're currently logging in directly to your service instance (such as Workspace ONE UEM) rather than through connect.omnissa.com, you are not yet "connected" and will be onboarded to Omnissa Connect as a new customer.
The onboarding process for new customers will occur in phases. Here's a brief overview of the main steps involved:
- Administrator Identification: First, one or more administrators from your organization will be identified as top-level "org owners." These admins will be the first to transition to the Omnissa Connect experience.
- Omnissa ID Creation: To log in to Omnissa Connect for the first time, org owners will need to create an "Omnissa ID" if they don't already have one. If you had a “VMware ID” previously, this was migrated to Omnissa ID during our transition from Broadcom. If you do need a new account, this is a simple process that can be completed at https://customerconnect.omnissa.com/
- Backend Configuration: Once the org owners are identified, our team will work behind the scenes to configure everything needed for your organization to start using Omnissa Connect. This process will not cause any service disruptions or impact your existing login methods.
- Welcome Email: After the backend configuration is complete, the designated org owners will receive a welcome email inviting them to log in to Omnissa Connect.
- Optional Federation Setup: After the initial login, org owners can choose to set up federation, allowing them and other admins to log in using their corporate credentials instead of a basic Omnissa ID. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is also supported and can be enabled during login.
- Inviting Additional Admins: The final step involves inviting additional administrators to Omnissa Connect as needed. We will provide separate communication and guidance to help customers easily invite additional admins with the appropriate roles and permissions.
It's important to reiterate that the onboarding process will not disrupt your existing services or login methods. Omnissa Connect simply provides a new, unified path to access and manage your Omnissa services, while still allowing you to use your previous login methods as needed during the transition period.
