Introducing Navigation Updates to the Workspace ONE UEM Administrator Console
The Workspace ONE team is thrilled to announce Limited Availability of the fresh console navigation experience with the Workspace ONE UEM v2406 release. The new navigation was designed to improve the ease of navigating through menus by improving feature discoverability, making it more intuitive for new and existing Workspace ONE administrators.
Note: Limited Availability
The new left-pane navigation is available in Limited Availability as part of the v2406 release. This means that it is not presented to you by default; you will need to ask your account team to enable this feature flag.
Background
The Workspace ONE UEM console has grown massively in scope over its lifetime, supporting various capabilities across device management, resource management, new service integrations, and security features, among many others. However, the look and feel of the console as we know it today has remained static for nearly a decade. We are currently in the process of re-imagining the administrator experience in the console, by bringing in customization, modular solutions, and improved feature discoverability all built on top of a modernized tech stack in order to provide administrators with a smooth and efficient console experience.
Navigation Refresh
The first step in bringing forth the ‘NextGen’ admin experience is the navigation refresh. The console navigation has been redesigned after iterative user testing and research. The idea was to bring the most-used features of the product to the forefront, make labels easier to parse and understand, and cluster pages into more logical categories. Changes include:
- Security: A new category has been introduced to house current and future ‘Security’ features. Key subcategories:
- Compliance Policies
- Workspace ONE Tunnel
- Email Security
- Devices: The 'Devices' section of the console now contains all device management features. Key subcategories:
- Lifecycle
- Staging
- Peripherals
- Resources: The scope of 'Resources' has expanded. Key subcategories:
- Apps
- Profiles & Baselines
- Certificates
- Scripting
- Workspace ONE Content
- Books
- VPP Orders
- Orchestration: Workflows through the Freestyle Orchestrator as well as Product Provisioning now fall under 'Orchestration.’
- Monitor: All analytics and events that an administrator may want to monitor on a regular basis can be found under this category. Key subcategories:
- Reporting
- Events and Logs
- Workspace ONE Telecom
