Announcing Technical Preview for Horizon Cloud Service Partner Administrator Console

Omnissa is excited to announce the opening of the Partner Admin Console (PAC) technology preview.  The PAC is a new application in Horizon Cloud Service (HCS) developed for service provider partners and resellers who offer management services for VDI environments leveraging Horizon Cloud Services.

Managing customer solutions can be complex, especially when you have service level agreements with multiple customers.  Horizon Cloud Service (HCS) partners have told us that they want to expedite operations of their tenants at scale rather than having to operate from separate environments on a tenant-by-tenant basis.  They want to see tenant activity aggregated in a single user interface so that they can see issues that may be impacting multiple tenants.  Ideally, they want quick access key tenant operational data to troubleshoot, and proactively address issues being detected before their customers are aware of any issues.   In addition, better telemetry on product usage will help them advise their customers how to grow and ensure they maximize the value of the solution.  They also want help prioritizing problems across their customer base.     Any solution that manages multiple tenants needs to have strong role-based controls to assign staff access and possible actions based on individual responsibilities.

The Partner Administrator Console for Horizon Cloud Service

The Partner Administrator Console begins to address many of these partner requirements.   In its current Tech Preview release,  PAC allows service providers and Omnissa resellers who offer value-add services to consolidate their tenant listing for easy access to each tenant’s administrative functions.

The PAC Tenant Catalog page shows all customer tenants in a single UI.  PAC is designed with role-based access in mind to allow you to assign individual staff members to specific tenants and roles (s.a. general admin, helpdesk admin, read-only).    This capability assures that only administrators with proper authority are able to troubleshoot a given tenant account.  Administrators can collaborate with experts who are given authority to view the tenant account.

Continuing with the Tech Preview

Over time as we progress through the tech preview period, we will add more functionality to the PAC.  The roadmap will include more enhancements to monitor for environmental and platform component issues.  For example, we will be adding infrastructure monitoring to the solution so that Administrators know when critical platform components like Active Directory, or DNS, is not available.  We will be enhancing cross-tenant troubleshooting to allow Administrators to find an individual end users via Search and view their sessions and entitlements.  We will also be making it easier to gather logs and provide more methods to take remediation actions from across the entire tenant community from a single interface.

How to get involved

PAC is currently available as a Technical Preview to Omnissa Partners and Resellers.  We expect multiple enhancements and updates to be added to the PAC over the next year.  We are excited to hear your feedback on which information you need access to on an hourly, daily, and weekly basis across your tenant landscape and which critical operations you want available across your tenant fleet from a single location.   To learn more about the Partner Admin Console for Horizon Cloud Service, e-mail GetHCSPACPreview@Omnissa.com to receive access to our Beta Communities site and get setup with access to the Partner Admin Console to help manage your HCS next-gen tenants today.
